Adopt a Family Fundraising, November 12th PAG Meeting Reminder, and Halloween Fun!

October 29, 2021

Dear Families,

Today we are sharing information regarding: (1) opportunities for families to support our “Adopt a Family” annual tradition, (2) our first Parent Advisory Group meeting of the 2021-2022 school year, and Halloween.

  • Adopt a Family:  Each holiday season our students and faculty coordinate fundraising activities to support the “Adopt a Family” charitable initiative.  Through this community engagement project, we work together to raise significant funds to sponsor gifts for local families in need and students practice valuable therapeutic skills.  Please see the attached flyer, which describes the important impact of this initiative and announces a series of upcoming student fundraisers for your family’s consideration. • PAG Meeting and Parent Training Reminder – Friday, November 12th from 10:00-11:30am:All Milestones parents/guardians are invited to join us for our first virtual Parent Advisory Group meeting of the school year on November 12th.  Each meeting includes time for discussion among families and members of our administration on topics that are valuable for parents/guardians as well as a training on a parent-requested topic.  The training topic for this meeting is “Dating and Autism” led by Bill Salloway, Psy.D.  We will circulate a link for joining this virtual meeting prior to the event, and you do not need to RSVP in advance to attend.
  • Halloween:  Last, we hope that students will share with you that it has been such a fun week heading into Halloween!   On Wednesday evening faculty stayed late after school to creatively decorate doorways and hallways throughout the building, and today students and faculty arrived in spirited costumes and participated in a variety of Halloween-themed activities.  For those who follow us on social media, pictures have been posted to our Facebook account.  Attached is a sample screenshot for your enjoyment. For those families who will be celebrating Halloween activities, we hope that you enjoy a safe and fun holiday weekend!

Sincerely,
Kim
