Covid-19 Update: May 10, 2020
May 11, 2020
We wanted to wish all of the mothers in our school community a very Happy Mother’s Day! It’s a beautiful day outside to celebrate and spend time with family.
- Milestones Matters Spring Newsletter: Click here for our latest issue of our school newsletter. It highlights a sample of activities that have taken place at Milestones over the last few months both while we have been participating in remote learning and while we were onsite beforehand.
- Family Activity Ideas: We have also attached two activities that families may want to try from home. (1) The first is appropriate for all age ranges and is an opportunity to support one of our charitable community partners, Cradles for Crayons. Prior to the start of each school year, Cradles for Crayons sends backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need, and they include well wishing notes that are typically written by staff volunteers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the organization could use help contributing encouraging notes. (2) In addition, families with younger children may enjoy creating your own COVID-19 time capsule, which was a project idea that was circulated to maaps schools. *If any of your families choose to engage in these activities and would like to be featured in a future Milestones newsletter or on our social media platforms, you are welcome to share photos with our project coordinator, Heidi Warren, and we’ll be happy to post a shout-out about your involvement. Heidi’s email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org*
Last, our administration and the PAG want to express our gratitude for the lovely and supportive notes, video clips, and pictures that were recently shared as part of our staff appreciation video gift in recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Week. We circulated a beautiful slideshow to our faculty at the end of last week, and they were so touched! Many thanks!
We hope you enjoy our newsletter in time for Mother’s Day, and we’ll look forward to “seeing” your students tomorrow in their remote classes!
